The Republic of Belarus ranks 23rd in the world in organ transplantation. Our country provides specialized care for patients on the waiting list for liver, kidney, pancreas, and intestine transplantation, and treats patients after organ transplants. Transplant oncology is successfully developing.
Kidney transplantation is performed from a living related and deceased donor for non-residents of the Republic of Belarus.
Liver transplantation is performed for both adults and children. Up to 10 liver transplantations are performed annually for young patients with complex pathologies, including congenital developmental anomalies.
Based at the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the State Institution "Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology", the first successful bilateral lung transplantation in the Republic of Belarus was performed.
We have extensive experience in performing lung-sparing operations with resection and all types of reconstruction of pulmonary vessels and bronchi. In the Republic of Belarus, the first in the CIS autotransplantation of a lung lobe and the first in Europe sublobar lung autotransplantation were performed.
